Jose Delgado Earns RCDD Certification

Congratulations to our McAllen office’s Electrical Team Leader Jose Delgado, PE, who recently earned his Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) designation from the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI). The RCDD accreditation is recognized worldwide and is one of the highest design credentials in the information technology systems (ITS) industry.

“Those who achieve the RCDD designation have demonstrated their knowledge in the design, implementation, integration, and project management of telecommunications and data communications technology and related infrastructure,” according to the BICSI website.

Jose and his team are currently providing ITS services for the following projects:

TEXAS TRANSNATIONAL INTELLIGENCE CENTER (TTIC) ANTI-GANG FACILITY

  • Project description: Repurposing a former 24,000 sf police department building for the TTIC Facility in McAllen. This facility will house federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies where information will be shared in real time.

  • ITS design services: Structured cabling, surveillance cameras coordination, intrusion detection, access controls, fire alarm, A/V, power quality and reliability, and the integration of an emergency command center.

Brownsville Public Utility Board (B PUB), Service Center

  • Project description: Developing a $15 to $20 million facility housing B PUB’s water, waste water, electrical, and security service departments. The planned facility consists of an administration building, warehouse and storage buildings, a vehicle maintenance building, a fueling station, and a vehicle wash building.

  • ITS design services: Structured cabling, surveillance cameras, intrusion detection, access controls, fire alarm, integration of all safety and security systems to a single platform, A/V, power quality and reliability, and the integration of a Security Office Center from where more than 200 camera feeds from all across B PUB’s facilities will be monitored.

Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1

  • Project description: Adding ITS for a new administration building and site security for the existing facility.

  • ITS design services: Structured cabling, intrusion detection, access controls, fire alarm, integration of all safety and security systems into a single platform, A/V, power quality and reliability, surveillance cameras for interior and site, and the physical interconnection of the new administration building to the existing network system.

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaquero Plaza

  • Project description: Repurposing three existing buildings for office and classroom use.

  • ITS design services: Structured cabling, intrusion detection, access controls, fire alarm, A/V, and the campus fiber optic backbone extension to the three buildings to include them to the UTRGV network.
