Press Releases 07-30-2018

LITTLE ROCK AND NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff), one of the nation’s leading engineering/architecture consulting firms, has announced that Marlar Engineering Co., Inc. of North Little Rock, Arkansas, has joined Halff.

The current Halff office in Little Rock and the Marlar Engineering office in North Little Rock will maintain their current leadership, staff and office locations. Both offices will do business as Halff+Marlar.

“We have been familiar with Marlar Engineering’s work for years,” Halff President Pat Kunz said. “We share many of the same project and client types, as well as high ethical standards. Together, we will provide stronger leadership, expertise and services. The joining of our two firms is a win for the Arkansas region as the state continues to grow and experience infrastructure expansion and rehabilitation needs.”

Marlar Engineering was founded in 1966 by Forrest C. Marlar Jr., PE, PLS, and is led today by Forrest’s son, Mike Marlar, PE, PLS. The firm has served Arkansas communities with a full range of planning and engineering projects, including land development, roadways, parks and water utilities.

Halff’s Little Rock office is led by James Arbuckle, who has spent most of his career in Little Rock and has overseen projects such as highways, water utilities, land development, parks and construction engineering and inspection.

Commenting on the change in ownership, Mike Marlar remarked, “By joining Halff, our clients will benefit from having a full range of services and greater insights to bear on their projects. With additional expertise such as floodplain management, traffic engineering, planning and landscape architecture, subsurface utility engineering and much more, we are able to provide more holistic solutions to meet our clients’ goals.”
