JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Halff’s partnership on The Block Jax, a mixed-use entertainment venue designed as a premier outdoor gathering space on the First Coast, has received an Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida Award for Excellence in the New Development Under $20 Million category.

The ULI North Florida Awards for Excellence recognize projects that demonstrate outstanding execution and best practices in areas including planning, design, construction, management, community involvement and environmental impact

Located on 2.5 acres within the St. Johns Town Center Master Development area, The Block Jax provides dining, entertainment and outdoor recreation for the surrounding community. The development includes nine restaurants, a large open pavilion and sound stage, an outdoor movie screen, a family play park and dog parks. Halff partnered on this project with developers Daniel Moffat and Ryan Irish, as well as architect/designer Design Cooperative and contractor Equity Builders of Florida.

The project was developed to provide additional family-friendly outdoor recreation within the Town Center area while creating a shared space for residents and visitors. Since opening, The Block Jax has hosted family movie nights, sporting events, wellness activities, concerts and other community events. The development also incorporates a variety of restaurant concepts and shared amenities intended to support an accessible environment for the community.
