Stephen Gbur, PE, Joins Halff as Senior Project Manager

Press Releases 07-17-2018

HOUSTON, Texas — Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff), one of the nation’s leading engineering/architecture consulting firms, is proud to announce Stephen Gbur, PE, has joined Halff’s Houston office as a senior project manager with nearly 40 years of experience in the transportation industry.

Stephen comes to Halff from a regional civil engineering and surveying firm, where he served as the design and construction manager of the firm’s transportation division. Some of his notable projects from his eight-year tenure at the company include Cypress North Houston Road, US 281, Spring Branch Road and Sam Houston Tollway.

For 29 years, Stephen also held a variety of positions for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), supervising groups of up to 55 professional and technical employees in transportation design and construction. He spent two years as an area engineer for the Beaumont District and 12 years as the transportation engineering supervisor for the Houston District, supervising a TxDOT Central Design Section that developed PS&Es for multi-million-dollar highway improvement projects. Stephen worked on TxDOT facilities such as SH 99, IH 10, SH 105, IH 610 (West Loop), US 59, SH 321 and the IH 10/IH 610/US 90 interchange.

“While Steve’s length of experience in the transportation industry is certainly impressive, his leadership skills are equally valuable to us as a firm,” said Houston Operations Manager James Baker. “As someone who has mentored many engineers at TxDOT, led design teams and led construction management and inspection teams, we at Halff are confident Steve will continue to provide outstanding direction for his projects while upholding high standards of quality.”

Stephen earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a Professional Engineer and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
