LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff), one of the nation’s leading engineering/architecture consulting firms, is pleased to announce James Barr, PE, has joined its Halff+Marlar office in Little Rock as a senior transportation engineer. With 24 years of experience in transportation design, he has been responsible for every aspect of highway design, including:
Prior to joining Halff, James provided design and CE&I services for the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) as a senior leader of an E/A firm. He has worked on many notable roadways in Arkansas, such as I-40, I-55, I-540, I-49, Highway 67, Highway 412, Highway 65 and the Springdale Northern Bypass.
“As an engineer, I enjoy partnering with communities and state governments to maintain, improve and expand their transportation networks,” said James. “Efficient transportation systems are imperative to reducing congestion and building prosperous communities.”
James earned his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in six states and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the Arkansas Academy of Civil Engineering.
