A DRONE’S PERSPECTIVE OF THE NOTRE DAME FIRE AFTERMATH

The massive fire that burned Paris’ historic Notre Dame Cathedral earlier this week caused the church’s wood latticework roof and iconic spire to collapse, but a good portion of the 850-year-old structure was saved by firefighters. Drone footage shows the some of the damage.

From Los Angeles to Atlanta to Arlington, Texas, sports stadiums are becoming the anchor of mixed-use developments across America. More than $12 billion has been spent on sports construction and renovation over the last 20 years to spur entertainment development, according to one outlet.


HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED ONE OF THESE EARTHQUAKES?

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) video animation below is a few years old, but it provides a fascinating look at every earthquake recorded worldwide from 2001 to 2015, at a rate of 30 days per second. As you’ll notice, most earthquakes occur at tectonic plate boundaries. The end of the video shows all earthquakes together.


TECHNOLOGY HAS PUSHED WATER FEATURES TO FOREFRONT

From fountains to crystal lagoons, commercial real estate developers are banking on an array of water features to create an atmosphere tenants crave. Water features that are visually interesting provide a place for people to walk, congregate or even dine.


D-FW METROPLEX SHOWS LARGEST GROWTH, CENSUS SAYS

The Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area had the largest numeric growth with a gain of 131,767 (1.8 percent) in 2018, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates released Thursday. Texas has four of the nation’s top 10 counties in terms of numeric growth, 2017 to 2018.
