Press Releases 08-02-2018

RICHARDSON, Texas — Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff), one of the nation’s leading engineering/architecture consulting firms, is proud to announce Gary N. Oradat, PE, has joined Halff’s headquarters in Richardson as director of Water Utilities. With nearly 40 years of experience in the public sector, his areas of expertise include water resource planning and implementation; wastewater collection system analysis and planning; and municipal infrastructure planning and implementation.

Gary spent 23 years with the City of Houston’s Department of Public Works and Engineering where he held numerous positions, including deputy director for the Engineering, Construction and Real Estate Division; deputy director for the Public Utilities Division; and city engineer. Upon his retirement from the City of Houston in 2004, Gary joined the Coastal Water Authority (CWA) as chief engineer and was subsequently named executive director.

In 2011, Gary founded Oradat & Associates, P.C. (OAPC) as a consultant to private and governmental entities. OAPC provided project management and program management services in horizontal and vertical design sectors, the construction industry and alternative project delivery.

Gary has also developed or expanded the municipal client bases for a Louisiana-based consulting firm and a global engineering firm.

“We are very excited Gary has joined the Halff family,” said Chief Strategy Officer Russell Zapalac. “His leadership and experience will benefit Halff’s Water Utilities clients by strengthening and expanding our service offerings.”

Gary earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a Professional Engineer and serves on the Program Committee for the annual Underground Construction Technology (UCT) Conference and Exhibition.
