November 19, 2018

Survey Manager Coleen Johnson, RPLS, PMP, of Halff’s Austin office has been appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying (TBPLS). She will serve a four-year term that expires in January 2023.

The TBPLS establishes standards of conduct and ethics for surveyors registered or licensed in Texas and prescribes the minimum standards for professional surveying.

Coleen, who has more than 30 years of surveying experience, has served several organizations throughout her career. She is a past director and president of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) and served as the TSPS GIS Committee chair and president of the Geographic and Land Information Society (a former member organization of the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping). Coleen is currently the chair of the TBPLS Item Writing Committee.

“I am very honored to serve in this capacity,” she said of her appointment by Governor Abbott. “I have always been a big proponent of volunteering my services to help serve my profession. It is my opinion that serving in these organizations is a huge part of being a professional.”
