Senior Vice President and Planning and Landscape Architecture Practice Leader Tim Bargainer has been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners.
The board is a multi-profession regulatory agency that oversees the examination, registration and professional regulation of architects, interior designers and landscape architects in Texas. Tim will serve in this capacity until his appointed term expires Jan. 31, 2025.
“It’s an honor to be appointed by the governor,” said Tim, who also serves on Halff’s board. “It’s a bucket-list item for a lot of people, myself included. I am honored to serve my state in that capacity.”
The mission of the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners is to “serve the state of Texas by protecting and preserving the health, safety and welfare of the Texans who live, work and play in the built environment through the regulation of the practice of architecture, landscape architecture and interior design.”
The agency was created in 1937 by the 45th Legislature in the aftermath of a New London School explosion.
“I think it’s one of those things where Halff—given our external capabilities—is an industry leader,” he added about the appointment. “We have an obligation to serve our clients, the public, the state and professions in that way. I am doing my duty, and I’m honored to do it.”
Tim received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University, and is a licensed Landscape Architect in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Arkansas. He is also a member of the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards.
