Continental Airlines - Line Maintenance Facility and Stores Warehouse

Client: Burns & McDonald

Halff Associates, Inc. provided civil and landscaping design services to Burns & McDonnell in the design of two new aircraft maintenance facilities, a consolidated stores warehouse, and a hangar annex building for offices, shops, and support spaces for Continental Airlines.

Terminal D — Detention Vault
Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, Texas

Client: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

The first flush detention system consisted of two 300,000-gallon detention vaults located below the aircraft apron, valves for controlling the release of captured storm water to the IWS, and diversion structures that will convey the first half-inch of runoff from the Terminal D apron to the vaults.

England Airpark, Hot Pads and Apron
Alexandria, Louisiana

Client: US Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District

Halff Associates provided design at Alexandria International Airport to support rapid deployment of the U.S. Army’s Striker Team. The project included a Fixed Wing Aircraft Parking Apron (FWAPA), three Hazardous Cargo Loading Aprons, a connector taxiway from the FWAPA to Runway 18-36, and the reconstruction of a 75-ft-wide keel section of Runway 18-36, as well as the extended 1,000 ft overrun.

Skylink Maintenance and Storage Facility
DFW International Airport, Texas

Client: DFW International Airport

Halff Associates designed an 112,825 sf maintenance and storage facility for the Skylink system at DFW International Airport. The facility provides storage for replacement train parts, and support facilities for maintenance personnel; including showers and locker rooms, break and training rooms, conference rooms, and administrative support functions. The control room within the maintenance facility monitors the complete Skylink system throughout the airport.
