Halff Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned professional services firm with a staff of more than 600 employees, headquartered in Richardson, Texas with offices in Dallas, Austin, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, McAllen, and San Antonio, Texas. The firm was founded in 1950 and incorporated in 1969. Halff Associates offers nationwide service in water resources, land development, municipal engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, environmental science and engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, transportation and surveying. Our staff includes engineers, scientists, surveyors, architects, landscape architects, computer specialists, and support personnel.

Health Benefits

Permanent full-time employees of Halff Associates, Inc. and permanent part-time employees working at least 30 hours per week are covered.

Health and Dental Insurance

Halff Associates, Inc. is self-insured with medical services provided through a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO). This medical plan is designed to promote wellness as well as protect you and your family from major financial hardship in the event of illness or injury. Halff Associates pays all premium expenses for employees and subsidizes the majority of the medical plan costs for employee dependants.

Section 125 Plan

The flexible spending plan, which allows for tax-free benefits, includes three accounts: premium expense account, health care account and a dependent care account.

Life Insurance

This covers 1½ times an employee's basic annual salary to a maximum of $50,000. All premium expenses for this coverage are paid by the firm.

Long-Term Disability

When totally disabled more than three months, the employee will receive 60 percent of base salary when combined with Social Security, Worker's Compensation and other income, whether the disability is caused by sickness or accident.

401(K)

A 401(k) Plan is available to all permanent full-time employees. The firm matches is variable with a guaranteed minimum of 20% of your contributions up to 6% of your deferral rate (last year the company match was 50%). Eligibility begins after 3 months of service.

Vacation

New employees are eligible for two weeks paid vacation after six months.

Company Holidays

Full-time employees are eligible for eight company holidays each year, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Profit Sharing

ESOP eligibility begins after 1 year, vested in 20% increments. The firm contribution is variable, and has averaged 4% of total compensation (salary and bonus) per year into account of each employee in the last 3 years.

529 College Saving Plan

We also sponsor a 529 College-Savings Plan to assist in saving for higher education.

Tuition Reimbursement

After six months employees are eligible to participate in tuition reimbursement that pays up to $5,250 annually.

Professional Memberships

It is the policy of Halff Associates, Inc. to encourage all employees to belong to one or two professional associations of their choice. The firm will pay full membership dues if the employee becomes an officer or committee member in the association. The firm will pay one-half of membership dues for being a member.
